2010 WRAP UP!
If we only did weddings, the fall and winter months would technically be our “time off”.  Being the glutton’s for punishment that we are, we decided to scrap that idea and see what else we could pile on our plate before 2K10 ended.  Here are some of the projects that we took on during the past two months or so.
University Settlement 100 Year Anniversary
What started out as a search for our Contact 2010 venue turned into a project to celebrate their 100 year anniversary and more!  Last November we displayed a series of images comparing services provided since their humble beginnings over a century ago.  Seeing the final product and all the kind words from everyone who came out to celebrate was one of the most gratifying moments we’ve had.  A HUGE thanks to Catherine, John, Debra and everyone we worked with for the past year!  The great thing about what we do is that there are never any goodbyes and we’ll definitely continue to work with University Settlement.
Hello Foto Studios @ 36 Chambers
In December we decided to take a leap of faith and built a backdrop at 1266 Queen w.  As part of the opening we threw together a bunch of different costumes and put together an impromptu shoot for everyone who came out.  We’ve just The crazy thing is that two months in and we’re already gearing up for another renovation!  Starting in February we’ll have a fully functional cove for use!  If you have any ideas or just want to shoot around give us a shout!
Film Racing Grand Prix?
You might be wondering, “What incredible force could possibly get Hitoshi in a black dress?”.  Well, all you need is a film competition where you’re given a theme, object and 100 hours to complete a 5 minute short.  Fast paced, cold (especially when you’re doing multiple takes in the middle of the night) and exhilarating pretty much summed up the experience.  It was actually our second time doing this and we thought we had all the answers, but there are always challenges that seem to creep up when you least expect it.  At some point when Hitoshi comes out of his shell we’ll post the video.
A La Mode 1 Year Anniversary
Marcus, the genius behind A La Mode, came to us and wanted to throw together a photo shoot for the guests at his party.  With a budget of only $100 bucks and large helping of good ol’ fashioned gumption, we put together a pink classroom/robot head themed shoot and lets the guest run wild.  It was such an amazing time and we met some incredibly talented artists.  We’re already talking about next year and it’s going to be bigger and better than the first!  Congratulations on your anniversary, Marcus!  We can’t wait to see what else is in store!
So there you have it.  2010 is wrapped up and we’re looking ahead to 2011.  It’s still boggles our minds that we’ve made it this far, (especially when there’s still so much more to do) but there’s no place to go but forward so we’ll keep plugging along and try to keep you guys up to date!  Happy new year and all the best you and yours!
Cheers,
Hitoshi & Vince
