For those of you who don’t know yet, a few months ago we decided to start renting out a space at 36 Chambers, a new art space at Queen and Dufferin.  These are pictures of the basement that we helped demolish and gut out.  When it’s all said and done there will be even more studio space and perhaps a darkroom!  (But more on that in the future)So we briefly touched on our last post, but after two months we decided to jump the gun (again) and now we are in the process of adding a cove to our studio! What’s a cove?Well, that’s a very good questions!  Think of it as a solid white backdrop instead of canvas!  The great thing about it is that if necessary we can buy chroma green paint and have some fun with our own greenscreen!  Why go to Paris when you can just come here!  Exciting, no?  One of the things we love about Hello Foto is that we’re always in the process of doing something new, especially this is the time of the year when we start the cycle of dreaming up new projects and wrapping up the previous 12 months.  Last year when we were super new to everything it was admittedly a little bit daunting trying to push ahead with multiple projects, but with one year under our belt we’re even more prepared to take on the world! So bring it on!  Mwa ha ha!Cheers,Hitoshi & Vincep.s.  Watch out for interviews with the photographers we’re going to be exhibiting with in Contact 2011!

About:

Hello Foto is the collaboration of Vincent Luk and Hitoshi Murakami in their effort to present their vision of photography and its possibilities. As an idea, Hello Foto stems from their personal philosophy that beauty in all its form can be found everywhere and anywhere. All it takes is a different perspective, open mind and perhaps, a little bit of courage to reach out and grab it.
