A few weeks ago, Devan asked us to come and shoot his birthday.  Now Devan doesn’t do anything small so when he said “Birthday Jam” he actually meant “Food-Art Exhibition that just happens to take place on my date of birth”.  He rented out Meta Gallery on Ossington (which used to be Rolly’s Garage), and asked his network of friends to submit food related artwork.  What resulted was a beautiful exhibition of photography, illustration, candy sushi, and scale models made entirely out of food.  With an entrance fee of either $50 or a food donation, this was probably the best event that weekend.
We’re always blown away by people who can take a passion and turn it into something amazing.  He’s promised that this is the first what he hopes to be an annual event.  We’ll be waiting for the next year which will undoubtedly be bigger and better!
Cheers,

About:

Hello Foto is the collaboration of Vincent Luk and Hitoshi Murakami in their effort to present their vision of photography and its possibilities. As an idea, Hello Foto stems from their personal philosophy that beauty in all its form can be found everywhere and anywhere. All it takes is a different perspective, open mind and perhaps, a little bit of courage to reach out and grab it.
